To apply for a Digital Nomad Visa in Colombia, you need to follow a specific process and meet several requirements. Here’s a comprehensive guide to help you through the process:

Requirements:

1. Valid Passport: Your passport must be valid for at least six months at the time of application.

2. Proof of Remote Work: You must provide proof of remote work such as an employment contract, freelance contract, or proof of business ownership outside Colombia. This can be a letter from your employer or clients stating the nature of your work and your income.

3. Minimum Income: You must show bank statements proving a minimum monthly income of approximately USD 900 (three times the Colombian minimum wage) for the last three months.

4. Health Insurance: You must have health insurance that covers you in Colombia, including accidents, illnesses, maternity, disability, hospitalization, death, and repatriation.

5. Photograph: A passport-sized color photo with a white background.

6. No Entry Visa Required: You must be from a country that does not require an entry visa to Colombia.

Application Process:

1. Gather Documents: Collect and digitize all required documents including your passport, proof of remote work, bank statements, health insurance, and a passport-sized photo.

2. Submit Application: Fill out the online application form on the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website. Submit your documents and pay the application fee of approximately USD 50.

3. Wait for Approval: The application processing time is typically around 30 days, but it can vary. You will receive a notification via email if your application is approved.

4. Pay Visa Fee: Upon approval, you will need to pay the visa issuance fee, which ranges from USD 170 to USD 230.

5. Receive Visa: The visa will be delivered electronically within 10 days of paying the visa fee.

Additional Information:

Family Members: You can bring your spouse and dependents with you. They will need to apply for a dependent visa.

Taxes: If you stay in Colombia for more than 183 days in a 365-day period, you will be considered a tax resident and will need to pay taxes on your worldwide income.

Duration: The digital nomad visa allows you to stay in Colombia for up to two years.
